About Montclair Dems
Meet the Montclair Dems, AKA the Montclair Democratic County Committee (MDCC). The Montclair Dems and our partners host a network of over 9,000 volunteers from NJ and across the country. Since 2020, our volunteers have hosted over 1,000 phone banks, mailed over 250,000 postcards, knocked on thousands of doors, and shared hundreds of thousands of social media posts. In 2024, our team sent 29 Buses and 50+ Car pools sending over 1500 volunteers to PA for Harris/Walz.
Our purpose is to identify and support Democratic candidates for local, county, and state offices. Through our grassroots mobilizations, we advocate for progressive issues on the local, state, and national levels. We are the official organization representing the Democratic Party in Montclair.
We are proud that Montclair has grown into one of the most progressive communities in America. We believe that elections have consequences.
We are committed to volunteer training and organizing voter participation to protect and expand our progressive values of diversity, inclusion, and equality.
There are many ways to get involved and make a difference in our community and our nation. If you are an existing member, we thank you
for your support. If you are new to the Montclair Dems, we look forward to working with you.

A District Leader is an unpaid volunteer elected official of the Montclair Democratic County Committee (MDCC). District Leaders are elected by registered Democratic voters in their neighborhoods. District Leaders represent their Democratic neighbors at county and state Democratic conventions. They also formally select candidates for partisan office.
We have 4 wards, each containing 9-12 districts. Two District Leaders are elected to each district; we currently have 82 seats on the MDCC.
